The Young Have The Best Timing by ~XDemonicFireX:iconXDemonicFireX:

The Young Have The Best Timing

“So how are we going to keep Philip away from Emma?” Olivia asked, her eyes filled with pain.

Natalie knew she should say something, something on how the police would keep Emma safe. How she would do everything in her power to protect their family. Instead she wrapped her arms around a pained Olivia and held her tightly.

“Why do you always know when I need a hug?” Olivia asked as she sobbed slightly into Natalie’s neck.

Pulling slightly away Natalie whispered quietly, “Shhhhh, it’s going to be alright, I promise.”

Looking into her friend’s eyes, Olivia’s beautiful worried eyes, Natalie leaned ever so slightly, about to capture those amazingly soft looking lips but just as promptly Nat lightly pushed Olivia out of her arms and turned her head towards to the stairs.

“Hey sweet heart, why are you out of bed?” Natalie said as Emma walked to the two women.

Olivia sighed and tried to discreetly as possible wipe away her remaining tears.

“I’m sorry mommy, please don’t cry anymore.” Emma mumbled as Olivia pulled her daughter onto her lap.

“Oh baby, I wasn’t so much as mad at you, then worried.” Olivia murmured while petting Emma softly on the head.

Natalie sat next to Olivia and placed her hand reassuring on the little girl’s knee. “You just need to remember to always ask you mother if you may leave the house or not.”

“Or at least tell Natalie where you’re heading, aright?”

Emma nodded and asked, “Can I sleep with you tonight mommy?”

“How about we make it a sleep over?” Olivia suggested while grinning at both her daughter and Natalie.

“Really, can we?” Emma turned to Natalie with pleading eyes, “Pretty please, with everything sweet on top?”

“Of course, now why don’t you run upstairs, me and your mother will be right up.”

Emma was grinning from ear to ear as she dashed up the staircase leading to her mother’s room.

“You don’t have to do this Nat, I just wanted to spend time together,” Olivia paused and ran her hand through her hair, “I didn’t think if you wanted to and I know you’ve been looking just as…”

“No, no, I want to do this, really I do.” Natalie grasped onto Olivia’s hand and placed it onto her lap. “It’s what families do, right.”

Olivia smiled and once again pulled Natalie into her arms. “I know this isn’t the best time but I want to…I just wanted you to know that I’m very fond of you and…and I care about you a lot.” Olivia was never a woman that couldn’t express her feelings properly through her words, but whenever it came down to Nat, her mind was a complete mess.

“I care about you too, and I’ll always be here.”

“I know that part, its just that I want you to be here as…” Olivia stuttered.

“Are you guys coming or what?”

Olivia loved her little girl as much as a mother could, but it was amusing what horrid timing Emma had for everything that related to her love life lately.

“C’mon, we’ll talk about this later, I promise.” Natalie whispered as she gave Olivia’s hand a light squeeze.

Natalie retrieved cookies and warm milk from the kitchen to accompany the hours worth of bedtime stories. Emma had to brush her teeth again when she somehow manage to nibble at her mommies stack of cookies. After much more giggling and assurance of staying awake with the adults, Emma was convince to cuddle into Nat’s arms and thus drifted off to sleep snuggled in between the two very exhausted yet content ladies.

“I promise I’ll always look after you two.” Olivia said as she ran her hand through Emma and Natalie’s hair

“Will you keep it?”

“Oh you’re awake…” Olivia pulled her hand away as if burnt, “Sorry about that.”

“Olivia, don’t stop, please,” Nat lifted her hand and placed it oh Olivia’s cheek. “I like this feel we have.”

“What would that be?” Olivia spoke as softly as she could, almost as if she was afraid that anything louder would break the spell of the moment.

“Loved,” Natalie reply just as softly, “I know I’ve been running away from…this, from us.”

The other woman nodded as tears brimmed in her eyes.

“I know I haven’t been fair to you, but after today, with Emma just disappearing, I can’t have anything ever happen to our family.” Natalie pulled Olivia down towards her, till their lips were only centimetres apart, “Do you trust me enough to give me one more chance with your heart?”

Never had an answer been so sweet and sure for Natalie as Olivia’s lips.
And never did Olivia question Emma’s timing ever again.

So i said i was going to dedicate somthing for Otalia, but i didn't realise how hard that was going to be. i was trying for fluffy here, but friday was such an intense episode.

three months off writing, that horse for some reason is ridiculously hard to get back on.

i'm hoping it didn't come off too cheesy or terrible to read
