Chap 5

“Are you awake…”Toph sighed; maybe Katara had already fallen asleep, turning around to enter back into her own tent.

Just as she was about to close the door of her rock tent she heard Katara’s regulated breathing quicken. …Katara was crying in her sleep? Who the HELL can possibly have made HER sugar queen cry. Whoever ever it was there was going to be hell to pay. While Toph ponder over their normal enemies then to a distinct memory of a particular pretty boy named Jet Li, she heard Katara murmur someone’s name…

Baffled by why Katara was moaning her name, Toph cautiously enter into the powder blue tent. She could feel Katara’s body shaking from her tears, causing worry to wrench at her heart.

“Katara, Sis,” Toph laid down next to Katara and wrapped a protective arm around her friend’s waist. “Don’t cry, I’m sorry I upset you, but, ummm, just don’t be sad, sis.”

Groaning Katara turned around and threw her arms around Toph’s neck. “Please…STOP…calling me your….your… sister.” Katara buried her face into Toph’s snow white neck, while strongly resisting the urges to fulfill the fantasies she had been having about the younger girl.

“But but, you said,” Sighing once again Toph held onto Katara’s shaking frame a little closer and tried to ignore how nice her water bender smelt. “Look Katara, its nothing to cry about, if I’m making you that upset, maybe I should just travel back home or anywhere else.”

“What?!!?!?” Katara cried, “You’re LEAVING?!”

“If that’s what it takes to make you happy,” Toph shrugged, “Then yes, I’m willing to just walk away.”

“What made you think I was wishing you would leave?!”

“Katara, you were crying my name!!!”

“That doesn’t mean ANYTHING you’ll understand!”

“It MEANS everything!” Toph pushed Katara to a shoulder length distance, “YOU mean everything to me!”

“Toph,” Katara shook her head, “You’re not…You don’t have the same feelings I have… I have for…”

Time seem to slow down for both girls. Toph was putting her heart out in the open to the harm the next few words that were about to fall from the water bender’s lips. While Katara fought whether to speak her mind and risk the whole group’s relationship or to just let the bind bandit slip through her fingers.

Anticipation filled the silent seconds, but Katara still found no words.

Finding no words to describe how she felt, so she acted upon her feelings. All the frustration and disappointment and adoration all flowed out her the moment she pushed her lips onto Toph’s soft delicate ones. And just like she had imagined, Toph tasted amazingly sweet.

Panic filled Katara’s heart when she couldn’t feel any reaction from Toph. Slowly pulling back, Katara looked curiously at Toph’s face. He friend was blushing slightly and was biting her lower lip, her milky white eyes darting to absolutely anything but Katara’s face, seeming as if they could actually ‘see’.

Toph was overjoyed; she could hardly remember why she had at came into the tent in the first place. Everything seem too surreal, this couldn’t be dream, could it? Toph bit down onto her lip, welcoming the stinging feeling. She was going to treasure this moment for as long as her life could possibly let her, especially now after she made sure she wasn’t dreaming.

While Toph was busy being distracted by her excitement, Katara was fighting the urge to cry. “Toph, look I’m sorry, but I’m sick of keeping my feelings for you a secret, its okay that you’ll hate me, Toph, really its okay.”

Katara looked onto Toph’s emotionless face and felt her heart sink even more, “I know I’m selfish for just forcing my feelings on you, honestly you’re not the one that should be leaving.”

With that, Katara pushed herself into a standing position and moved to the exit of the tent, she was not going to let Toph see her cry again.

“Katara,” after finally getting over her astonishment, Toph threw her body onto Katara’s “You can’t leave; if you leave then I’m following you, even if it’s back to the ice pole or my stupid mansion!”

“Really?!”

Toph nodded and shyly kissed the neck of her water bender. Toph had always been possessive, might as well start establishing the fact now that Katara felt the same way…

-Some where in the nearby woods-

“YES,” Sokka exclaimed while proudly holding a juicy red apple right in front of Momo. “I showed you DIDN’T I?!”

Momo hissed and laid his ears flat onto his back.

“Sokka!” Aang dropped down onto his knees beside Sokka. “Geeze, you, sure can run fast!”

“It’s from the countless times we’ve been chased by all our enemies,” Sokka smiled knowingly. “Trees too tight for air bending?”

“Yeah...” Aang mumbled while crossing his arms. “If I soared in the air with my air staff I couldn’t have possibly been able to see you.”

“Exactly, I’ve proven normal skills are better then any kind of bending.”

“Honestly Sokka, you haven’t.”

“Couldn’t you at least give me 5 seconds of victory?” Sokka complained while running his head into a nearby tree.

“Sorry,” Aang replied as he bit into his half of an apple. “I’ll remember that next time.”

“That’s right,” Sokka stared at the piece of fruit in Aang’s mouth, then to his hand that once held the fruit … “MOMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

-Back at camp-

Momo was sitting comfortably next to Toph and Katara, nibbling on the piece of fruit he had so rightfully stolen from a particular group member. As he chomped into the apple, he notice how close his two friends were leaning onto each other, but that was soon forgotten when he continue his search for more nourishment.

Katara was leaning against a rock wall Toph had so kindly created to further separate the couple from the boy’s side of the camp. Toph was comfortably being cradled in Katara’s arms, her head laid on top of Katara’s chest. All her worry subsided, her beloved’s steady heart-beat lulling her to sleep.


Omake Theatre


-Some where in the nearby woods-

“YES,” Sokka exclaimed while proudly holding a juicy red apple right in front of Momo. “I showed you DIDN’T I?!”

Momo hissed and laid his ears flat onto his back.

“Sokka!” Aang laid down his head onto Sokka’s lap. “You, sure can run fast!”

“It’s from the countless times we’ve been chased by all our enemies,” Sokka smiled knowingly. “Trees too tight for air bending?”

“Yeah...” Aang mumbled while crossing his arms. “If I soared in the air with my air staff I couldn’t have possibly been able to see you.”

“Exactly, I’ve proven normal skills are better then any kind of bending.”

“Just because I didn’t want to miss out on watching you swish your cute ass!”

“Well,” Sokka said flustered, “That just PROVES…what am I trying to prove?!”

“That benders aren’t better,” Aang replied blushing slightly. “That’s not what you said last night though...”

“Well, forget what I said last night, skills are always better then bending at all times!” Sokka proclaimed, smiling smugly.

“So should I just forget ever giving you another,” Aang crawled close to Sokka and whispered something not even audible to Momo.

“AANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

-Back at Camp-

“I swear I just heard Sokka scream…”

“He’s probably being punished by Aang in the ass.” Toph snicker.

“Toph, how could you think that?!”

Toph looks Katara and smiles in a feral manner, “Because it’s what I want to do to you.”
